Our company is focused on re-developing existing defunct properties which have come to the end of their natural lives, and are no longer usable in their existing form for tenants in a modern economy. Rather than demolish the buildings, we take the view that it is greener and more environmentally sustainable to reposition existing buildings and adapt them to provide new vibrant offices, warehouse, storage and sometimes residential uses. Refurbished buildings are cooler, have more character and are environmentally much greener as it means that we do not have to go through the energy wasteful process of demolition, and rebuilding. Production of steel and concrete is a major contributor to climate change and we are passionate that our approach is the right one.
During the re development process we design our Parks so as to have climbing ivy on facades which not only provides greenery, but also helps keep the buildings cooler in summer. They also provide a habitat for wildlife. We line our roads with trees which give shade for parking vehicles, and we use box planters so that there are flowers to enhance the visual environment. We also construct separate roofed areas for smoking away from main entrances of buildings and shield unsightly air condition units with wooden trelaces.
We put a lot of focus on building communities in our estates, and will often place a subsidised café at the center of our park where our tenants can eat, meet and generally socialise. We encourage tenants to trade with each other so as to build an eco system of small businesses which can thrive alongside each other and benefit from each other’s expertise.
